MAckenzie Jensen - Mc
Mackenzie is a Registered Psychologist who values and honors the work that she does as well as the people who seat themselves in front of her. From a young age she realized her hope in life would be to support others through tragedy, loss, pain, and soul searching in a compassionate way. Mackenzie hopes to offer a safe, warm, and non-judgmental space for those who yearn for a greater sense of self, healing, and growth. She believes that her role as your counselor is to offer an intimate, compassionate, curious and safe environment in order for you to process and heal through difficult times.
Mackenzie completed her Masters of Counselling in May 2014 and continued to work at Hospice Calgary following her graduation. She had the honor of supporting clients during a life-threatening illness and after a death had occurred.
Over the past three years she has gained a considerable amount of experience working with clients who have experienced trauma, grief and loss, depression, anxiety, self-harm, mental health, issues related to self-identity, infertility, and domestic violence.
Mackenzie works with children, youth and adults in individual and group settings. She also offers Emotion Focused Couples therapy to couples experiencing distress related to miscommunication, infidelity, trust, grief and loss, and a sense of disconnect. Mackenzie believes in offering a holistic model to her clients, focusing on all aspects of the person. As a well-rounded counsellor, Mackenzie integrates Emotion Focused Therapy, EMDR, Narrative Therapy, Transactional Analysis, Transpersonal Therapy, and Mindfulness as needed.
