Dr. Hantke is a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Herbologist and Registered Acupuncturist with the College and Association of Acupuncturists of Alberta. He holds a Doctorate of Traditional Chinese Medicine from the International College of Traditional Chinese Medicine of Vancouver. His studies in Chinese Medicine include five years of specific academic training, 1,500 hours of practicum, and a 6 month post graduate internship at the Anhui Acupuncture Hospital in Hefei, China. During this internship Dr. Hantke focused on pain management and gynecological disorders.

Dr. Hantke has been practicing Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) since 2003. In 2004 he founded East Meets West Inc. where he is the owner and clinical director. Since beginning his practice, Dr. Hantke has focused mainly on treating pain management (acute and chronic), headaches, stress/anxiety, depression, fertility and pregnancy. As a result of his treatment success, his practice rapidly grew and has expanded to include more women’s health issues and a wide variety of other ailments. Recognizing the genuine need for specialized knowledge within TCM, he has undertaken extensive additional training with well-known specialists in numerous other areas.

Dr. Hantke continues to evolve his vision of a multi-disciplinary, patient-oriented, integrative health centre that provides comprehensive holistic health care of the highest quality. 


Dr. Tobie Spitzer - DTCM, R.Ac

Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine

Registered Acupuncturist

Dr. Tobie Spitzer was born and raised in Lethbridge, AB. She moved to Calgary, AB in 2005 and enrolled the Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Registered Acupuncture program. She graduated from the Calgary College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Acupuncture in 2010. The last six months of the program was dedicated to practicum in which she chose to pursue at East Meets West Inc. in Lethbridge. Between hours of student clinic and practicum, Tobie gained much appreciated experience in all areas that TCM has to offer including acupuncture, Chinese herbs, tui na (Chinese massage) and cupping. Since graduating, Tobie has moved back to Lethbridge to pursue her career with East Meets West.

In the last two years Tobie has successfully treated a wide range of ailments including all types of pain, headaches and migraines, stress and anxiety, and infertility. She takes part in many seminars to continue her education in specific areas. Tobie is dedicated to taking time with each patient and building a healthy patient - practitioner relationship. Seeing patients improve and feel better is the greatest reward.

Brady Nakama - R.Ac

Registered Acupuncturist

Brady was born and raised in Lethbridge, Alberta. He developed an interest in sports at an early age which developed into a passion for health and wellness. Following this passion he moved to Edmonton, and in 2008 enrolled in the EMR (Emergency Medical Responder) program at NAIT. Upon graduating in 2009 however, he decided that first response care was not for him. He soon developed an interest in alternative healthcare and enrolled in the doctor of acupuncture program at Alberta College of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (ACATCM) in Calgary, Alberta graduating in 2013. During his time at ACATCM Brady learned the principles and practice of acupuncture, cupping, and herbology, as well as spent over 700 hours observing and treating patients in the student clinic. In 2015 Brady moved back to his home town of Lethbridge began his career with East Meets West.
